Eritel-CH 40 Tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) when a single medicine is not enough. It combines telmisartan, a blood-pressure-lowering agent, with chlorthalidone, a diuretic (water tablet), giving a stronger combined effect.
Telmisartan relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows them, while chlorthalidone helps the kidneys remove excess salt and water from the body, and together they lower blood pressure more effectively than either medicine alone.
Take this tablet as prescribed at the same time each day, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and continue even if you feel well, since high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, as this combination should not be used in pregnancy. Have your kidney function and blood salts, particularly potassium and sodium, checked periodically, and tell your doctor if you feel unusually thirsty, dizzy or notice reduced urine output.
