It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and metoprolol succinate, a beta-blocker. These components work together to relax blood vessels and slow the heart rate. Take it with or without food as prescribed, ideally as prescribed. Swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as abrupt withdrawal of beta-blockers can worsen heart conditions.
Healthy lifestyle changes support blood pressure control alongside this medicine. These include reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, breathing difficulties, a slow heart rate, heart block, kidney or liver problems, or diabetes. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor may monitor your heart rate, kidney function, and potassium levels while you are on this medicine.
