Telma-R 40/5 Tablet is a medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults requiring dual therapy. Maintaining optimal blood pressure reduces the risk of long-term heart, brain, and kidney complications.
It is a combination of telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and ramipril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Take it as prescribed, with or without food, at the same time every day. Continue taking it consistently even when you feel fine, as high blood pressure usually presents no symptoms. Do not discontinue treatment abruptly.
Adopting healthy habits helps keep blood pressure controlled. Recommended measures include limiting dietary salt, exercising regularly, managing body weight, and avoiding tobacco and excess alcohol.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver issues, heart failure, high potassium levels, or are taking other blood pressure medicines. It must not be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function and serum potassium levels periodically.
