Telma-BS 5 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of high blood pressure, also known as hypertension

• Reduction of the risk of heart attack

• Lowering the possibility of stroke

• Mitigation of cardiovascular death risks in patients unable to take ACE inhibitors

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet.

• This medicine can be taken with or without food.

Telma-BS 5 Tablet is taken orally.

Telma-BS 5 Tablet is composed of two active ingredients that work together to manage hypertension:

• Bisoprolol (5 mg): This ingredient acts as a beta blocker. It functions by blocking beta-1 receptors in the heart, to which substances like adrenaline normally bind. This results in your heart beating more slowly and with less force, thereby reducing the strain on your heart and lowering your blood pressure.

• Telmisartan (40 mg): Classified as an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), telmisartan prevents angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors in blood vessels. Angiotensin II typically causes blood vessels to narrow. By blocking this action, telmisartan allows blood vessels to relax and widen, leading to improved blood flow and a decrease in blood pressure.
