Telma-AM 80/5 Tablet is a medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults when a single medicine is not sufficient. Keeping blood pressure in a target range significantly reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure.
It combines telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. Take it as prescribed, with or without food, as prescribed for consistent control. Keep taking it even when you feel well, as high blood pressure rarely shows symptoms. Stopping the medicine suddenly can lead to a sharp rise in blood pressure.
Complementing therapy with healthy living supports blood pressure control. Recommendations include restricting salt, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and reducing alcohol intake.
Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or heart conditions. Telmisartan must be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you experience marked ankle swelling or severe dizziness.
