CompositionTeczine 10 Tablet is used to relieve itching and rash caused by chronic urticaria (long-lasting hives) and symptoms of allergic rhinitis. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing levocetirizine 10mg, which belongs to a class of medicines called antihistamines (anti-allergic medicines).
This is a higher strength than the usual 5mg tablet and is generally prescribed by a doctor when a standard dose has not controlled symptoms, most often for hives. It also relieves sneezing, a runny or itchy nose and watery eyes. Take it once a day, preferably in the evening, as it can cause tiredness, and continue for as long as your doctor advises.
Avoiding known triggers such as dust, pollen, pet dander, very hot showers and tight clothing, and limiting alcohol, can help reduce flare-ups.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, epilepsy or difficulty passing urine, and about other medicines you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is more likely to cause drowsiness at this strength, so do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you, and avoid alcohol. Report any breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or severe drowsiness. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
