CompositionTamoxifilm 10 Tablet 10 is used to treat hormone (oestrogen) receptor-positive breast cancer in women, to reduce the risk of it returning after surgery or radiotherapy, and to lower the risk of breast cancer in high-risk women.
It contains tamoxifen, a selective oestrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It works by blocking the effect of oestrogen on breast-cancer cells, which slows or stops their growth.
Take it as prescribed, at the same time each day, for the full period advised, which is often several years.
Do not use it in pregnancy, and use non-hormonal contraception during treatment. It raises the risk of blood clots and can affect the lining of the womb, so report calf pain or swelling, breathlessness, chest pain, or any unusual vaginal bleeding.
