Airflow 250 Rotacap is used for the regular, longer-term control of asthma (in people aged 4 years and older) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), helping to keep the airways open, reduce flare-ups and improve breathing. It is not a reliever for sudden breathlessness.

Airflow 250 Capsules consist of two active components:

• Fluticasone Propionate (250 mcg): As a synthetic glucocorticoid, fluticasone propionate works by reducing inflammation in your airways. It also decreases hyper-responsiveness and mucus secretion, thus reducing airway obstruction.

• Salmeterol (50 mcg): Classified as a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA), salmeterol causes prolonged relaxation of airway smooth muscles. It does so by stimulating an enzyme inside your cells called adenyl cyclase. This increases levels of a molecule called cyclic AMP, which promotes smooth muscle relaxation.

The combined actions of these two ingredients help manage asthma and COPD more effectively than either component alone. However, remember that LABAs like salmeterol may increase the risk of asthma-related deaths.
