Airflow 250 Rotacap is used for the regular, longer-term control of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Used regularly, it helps keep the airways open, reduces flare-ups, and improves breathing. It is not a reliever for sudden breathlessness.
It is an inhaled medicine containing fluticasone, a steroid that calms inflammation in the airways, and salmeterol, a long-acting medicine that relaxes the airway muscles. The powder is inhaled from the rotacap using the device, usually twice daily as prescribed.
Rinsing your mouth and gargling with water after each dose helps prevent a sore mouth or hoarse voice, and quitting smoking and avoiding triggers support your breathing alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart problems, diabetes or thyroid problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Keep a separate reliever inhaler for sudden symptoms. Report worsening breathlessness, a white coating in the mouth, or a fast or irregular heartbeat.
