Mesalmile OD Tablet 10 is used for the following.

Uses of Mesalmile OD Tablet 10 are:

• Ulcerative Colitis: Treats mild to moderate ulcerative colitis and helps induce and maintain remission.
• Rectal Bleeding and Diarrhoea: Relieves symptoms caused by ulcerative colitis.
• Crohn's Disease: Used in some cases to manage this inflammatory bowel condition.

Follow these instructions while taking Mesalmile Od Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take this medicine with food for the best results.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly for the full course prescribed.

Mesalmile Od Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Mesalmile Od Tablet 10 contains mesalazine (1.2 g), which works on the body as follows:

• Local anti-inflammatory action: Mesalazine works directly in the colon where it reduces inflammation of the intestinal lining, providing relief from ulcerative colitis symptoms.

• Prostaglandin inhibition: It blocks the production of prostaglandins, which are substances that promote inflammation in the body, by suppressing an enzyme called cyclooxygenase.

• Leukotriene reduction: The medicine decreases the formation of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory compounds that contribute to the symptoms of ulcerative colitis.

• Targeted release: The tablet is specially designed to release the active ingredient specifically in the colon, where it's most needed, maximising its effectiveness at the site of inflammation.

• Store Mesalmile Od Tablet 10 at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Keep the medicine protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
