Spiromide Tablet is used to manage fluid retention (oedema) linked with conditions such as heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and certain kidney disorders. It is also used to help manage mild to moderate high blood pressure.
It is a combination water tablet (diuretic) that helps the body remove excess fluid and salt through the urine, which reduces swelling and eases the load on the heart. Take it as prescribed, ideally earlier in the day so that the need to pass urine does not disturb your sleep.
Simple measures support treatment. Follow any advice on salt and fluid intake, weigh yourself as advised to monitor fluid changes, and stand up slowly to reduce dizziness.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, gout, or other medicines you take. Your doctor may check your salts (electrolytes) and kidney function with blood tests. Report marked dizziness, muscle cramps, or a very dry mouth.
