Aldactone Tablet 15

Aldactone Tablet can interact with medications, including:

• Anti-arrhythmic medicines such as digoxin. The concomitant use increases the blood concentration of digoxin.
• Anti-psychiatric medications such as lithium. This tablet can reduce the kidney clearance of lithium and add a high risk of lithium toxicity.
• Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and mefenamic acid. The concomitant use of this tablet can affect the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications effect. 
• Neuromuscular blockers such as tubocurarine. The concomitant use may result in increased responsiveness to the muscle relaxant.
• Corticosteroids. On concomitant use with corticosteroids, intensified electrolyte depletion, particularly low potassium levels, may occur. 
• Potassium supplements. The concomitant use can cause high potassium levels in blood.
• Pressor amine such as noradrenaline. This tablet reduces the vascular responsiveness to noradrenaline. 
• Other diuretics such as eplerenone. The concomitant use can cause high potassium levels in blood.

While taking Aldactone Tablet, foods rich in potassium-containing salt substitutes should be avoided.

Aldactone Tablet can interact with diseases, including:

• Anuria (no urine formation by kidneys): This tablet should be avoided in individuals experiencing anuria, a condition where the kidneys cannot produce urine. This is because the medication's mechanism of action involves the excretion of excess fluids through urine, and if urine production is severely compromised, the tablet’s effect may not be achieved.
• Severe kidney impairment: Individuals with severe kidney impairment may have compromised kidney function. This tablet, being a diuretic, can affect fluid and electrolyte balance, and its use in severe kidney impairment may lead to further complications. 
• High potassium in the blood (Hyperkalemia): This tablet can potentially increase potassium levels in the blood. Using this tablet in individuals who already have elevated potassium levels, a condition known as hyperkalemia, can further exacerbate the condition.

The daily dose of this tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.

If you take an excessive amount of this tablet by accident, it is essential to get immediate medical attention from your doctor or nearby hospital. Symptoms of an overdose include drowsiness, mental confusion, nausea, vomiting, and itching.

If you forgot to take this tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If the time for the next dosage is close, it is recommended to skip the missed one now and resume your regular dosage pattern. Never increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.
