CompositionAldactone 50 Tablet is used to manage fluid retention (oedema) in adults with heart failure, liver cirrhosis or nephrotic syndrome, to help control high blood pressure, and in primary hyperaldosteronism and low potassium levels.
It contains spironolactone (50 mg), a potassium-sparing diuretic and aldosterone antagonist. Take it as prescribed.
Keeping to all monitoring appointments for blood potassium and kidney function, and following any dietary advice about potassium, supports safe treatment alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any kidney problems or elevated potassium before starting. Avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium unless directed. Report muscle weakness, irregular heartbeat or marked dizziness.
