Azoran 25 Tablet is used for the following:

• Preventing organ transplant rejection
• Managing severe rheumatoid arthritis
• Treating inflammatory bowel diseases
• Managing systemic lupus erythematosus
• Controlling autoimmune hepatitis
• Helping with severe skin conditions like pemphigus
• Reducing symptoms of severe blood disorders
• Supporting patients with severe autoimmune conditions

Follow these instructions while taking :

• Take this medicine exactly as your doctor has prescribed.
• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
• You can take it with or without food.
• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.
• Take this medicine regularly at the same time each day.
• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.
• If you have any concerns about how to take this medicine, ask your doctor.

Azoran 25 Tablet is taken orally.

Azoran 25 Tablet contains azathioprine (25 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Prodrug conversion: Azathioprine is converted in your body to its active form called 6-mercaptopurine, which is responsible for its therapeutic effects.
• Purine synthesis inhibition: It blocks the production of purines, which are essential building blocks needed for the creation of DNA and RNA in rapidly dividing cells like immune cells.
• T-cell and B-cell reduction: It decreases the production of important immune cells called T-lymphocytes and B-lymphocytes, which are responsible for attacking foreign substances in your body.
• DNA synthesis interference: It becomes incorporated into DNA, preventing normal DNA formation and replication, which helps suppress excessive immune responses.
• Immunosuppression: By reducing immune cell activity, it helps prevent organ rejection in transplant patients and reduces inflammation in autoimmune diseases.

• Store this tablet at room temperature, in the original tightly sealed container in a safe place.
• Check the expiry date and do not use the medicine after this date.

• For autoimmune conditions: Follow an anti-inflammatory diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish like salmon) and antioxidants (found in colourful fruits and vegetables) to help reduce inflammation alongside your medication.
• For organ transplant patients: Maintain strict food hygiene practices to prevent foodborne infections, as azathioprine suppresses your immune system, making you more vulnerable to these illnesses.
