CompositionSitared MD XR 500 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults when treatment with fewer medicines has not controlled blood sugar adequately.
It contains dapagliflozin, metformin and sitagliptin. It combines metformin, which improves the response to insulin and reduces the glucose the liver makes, a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases insulin release after meals, and an SGLT2 inhibitor that helps the kidneys remove excess glucose in the urine.
Take it as prescribed, and drink enough fluids. Keep up good genital hygiene, as the SGLT2 part can make genital infections more likely.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems before use. Seek urgent help for severe weakness, breathlessness, or nausea and vomiting with deep breathing, as, rarely, this combination can cause lactic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis, sometimes at near-normal blood sugar.
