CompositionSECEF O Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract and other parts of the body. It combines cefixime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, with ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic.
Cefixime and ofloxacin both stop bacteria from surviving and multiplying, through different mechanisms, giving broader antibacterial cover for infections that may involve a wider range of bacteria, which helps reduce infection-related symptoms such as fever, pain and inflammation.
Take this tablet exactly as your doctor prescribes and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve early, to help clear the infection and reduce the risk of resistance developing.
Avoid exposure to bright sunlight, as the ofloxacin component can increase sensitivity to UV light, and avoid taking antacids containing magnesium or aluminium at the same time, as they reduce absorption. Tell your doctor about existing health conditions, allergies, or other medicines to avoid interactions, and report any tendon pain or swelling during treatment.
