Myfortic 360 mg Tablet is used to prevent organ rejection in adults who have had a kidney transplant. It contains mycophenolate sodium, an immunosuppressive medicine that reduces the activity of the immune system.
It is usually given together with other medicines such as ciclosporin and corticosteroids as part of a combined anti-rejection regimen. Take it on an empty stomach as prescribed, and swallow the tablet whole without crushing or chewing it.
Because this medicine lowers your ability to fight infection, avoiding contact with people who have infections, practising good hygiene, and keeping up with recommended vaccinations as advised by your doctor are important during treatment.
Tell your doctor if you have stomach or bowel problems, or if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, as this medicine can cause serious harm to an unborn baby. Report fever, unusual bruising or bleeding, persistent diarrhoea, or signs of infection such as a sore throat immediately.
