Myfortic 360 mg Tablet is used in adults who have received a kidney transplant to help prevent the body's immune system from rejecting the new organ.

Uses of Myfortic 360 mg Tablet are:

• Organ Rejection Prevention: Helps prevent rejection of a transplanted kidney.
• Ongoing Immunosuppression: Helps maintain immunosuppression after kidney transplantation.
• Combination Therapy: Used alongside other immunosuppressive medicines such as ciclosporin and corticosteroids as part of a combination immunosuppressive regimen.

When taking Myfortic 360 mg Tablet, follow these instructions:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Avoid crushing, chewing, or dividing it.

• Don't take more than your doctor has recommended without consulting them first.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without first discussing it with your doctor.

Myfortic 360 mg Tablet is taken orally.

Myfortic 360 mg Tablet contains mycophenolate sodium (360 mg), which works in the body as follows:

• Inhibits IMPDH: Mycophenolate sodium is a prodrug that delivers mycophenolic acid (MPA). MPA is a potent inhibitor of inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the production of guanosine nucleotides in your body.

• Reduces Lymphocyte Proliferation: By inhibiting IMPDH, MPA reduces the proliferation of T- and B-lymphocytes, which are highly dependent on the de novo pathway of guanosine nucleotide synthesis. This cytostatic effect on lymphocytes aids in preventing organ rejection.

• Inhibits Antibody Production: MPA also hinders the production of antibodies from B-cells, thereby limiting the immune response against the transplanted organ.

• Prevents Leukocyte Recruitment: MPA may inhibit the recruitment of leukocytes into sites of inflammation by preventing the glycosylation of lymphocyte and monocyte glycoproteins. This action further enhances the medicine's immunosuppressive effect.

• Store Myfortic 360 mg Tablet at a temperature of 25°C.

• Avoid exposure to light, so keep it in its original package.
