Tegrital 200 Tablet 10

Tegrital 200 Tablet is used to treat epilepsy and control seizures. It is also used to manage trigeminal neuralgia (severe nerve pain of the face) and may be prescribed for mood stabilisation in bipolar disorder.

• Swallow Tegrital 200 tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
• Take the tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication. 
• Do not change your tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

Tegrital 200 MG tablets should be administered orally.

• The active ingredient in Tegrital 200 MG tablet is carbamazepine, which exerts its medicinal activity by acting as an anticonvulsant and mood stabiliser. It works by regulating electrical activity in the brain and reducing abnormal firing of nerve signals that can lead to seizures in epilepsy or cause pain in trigeminal neuralgia. 
• Carbamazepine affects the activity of sodium channels in the body. It reduces the generation and transmission of electrical signals in the nerves. This is thought to happen by binding to a specific part of the sodium channels, which helps regulate their function and prevent excessive electrical activity in the brain.

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Tegrital 200 tablets away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Stick to regular meal times and a consistent sleep schedule to help regulate your body's internal clock. Irregular sleep patterns and meal timings can sometimes trigger seizures or worsen trigeminal neuralgia symptoms.
• Follow a balanced diet that includes a variety of nutrient-rich foods. Incorporate fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Consider consulting a registered dietitian for personalised dietary recommendations.
• Drink an adequate amount of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. Dehydration can sometimes trigger or exacerbate symptoms, so ensure you get enough fluids.
• Pay attention to potential triggers for seizures or trigeminal neuralgia pain. These triggers can vary from person to person but may include stress, lack of sleep, certain foods, and specific environmental factors. Identify and minimise exposure to your triggers.
• Alcohol and certain drugs can interfere with the effectiveness of antiepileptic medications and may increase the risk of seizures. It is generally recommended to limit or avoid alcohol consumption and stay away from illicit drugs.
• Engage in stress-reducing activities such as exercise, meditation, deep breathing exercises, or hobbies you enjoy. High-stress levels can trigger seizures or worsen trigeminal neuralgia pain.
