Tegrital CR 300 Divitabs Tablet is used to control certain types of seizures and fits in patients with epilepsy. It is also used to treat trigeminal neuralgia, a condition that causes severe facial nerve pain, helping reduce pain intensity and frequency.

To use Tegrital CR 300 Divitabs Tablet, follow these instructions:

• Take the tablet orally, as directed by your doctor.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush, chew or break it.

• This medicine can be taken with or without food.

• Always follow your doctor's advice and never modify the dose yourself.

Tegrital CR 300 Divitabs Tablet contains carbamazepine (300 mg). This medication works on your body in the following ways:

• Stabilises Hyper-excited Nerve Membranes: Carbamazepine acts by stabilising the membranes of nerves that are overly excited. This means it reduces the nerve's ability to send rapid and repeated signals which can lead to seizures.

• Inhibits Repetitive Neuronal Firing: The medication inhibits neurons, or brain cells, from firing repetitively. This action helps to prevent the spread of electrical activity in the brain, thereby helping to prevent seizures.

• Reduces Synaptic Propagation of Seizure Impulses: Synaptic propagation is when an electrical impulse travels from one nerve cell to another through synapses (the junctions between nerve cells). Carbamazepine reduces this propagation of seizure impulses, further helping to control seizures and manage pain in conditions like trigeminal neuralgia.

• Store Tegrital CR 300 Divitabs Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 20°C to 25°C.
