Rytstat 50 Tablet is used in adults to manage anaemia associated with chronic kidney disease, and to help improve oxygen delivery and red blood cell counts in certain other conditions.

Rytstat 50 Tablet contains desidustat (50 mg) and works on the body as follows:

• Hypoxia-Inducible Factor Stabilisation: Desidustat stabilises hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF). HIF plays a key role in stimulating the production of a substance called erythropoietin, which helps make red blood cells.

• Inhibition of Prolyl Hydroxylase Enzymes: Desidustat works by blocking enzymes known as prolyl hydroxylase. These enzymes are responsible for the destruction of red blood cells. By inhibiting these enzymes, desidustat increases red blood cell counts.

• Improvement of Oxygen Delivery: By increasing red blood cell counts, desidustat improves oxygen delivery in the body. This is particularly beneficial for patients with conditions such as CKD, chemotherapy-induced anaemia, and COVID-related complications.
