Reduces Blood Pressure: By blocking the action of ACE, Ramipril effectively reduces the levels of angiotensin II, leading to relaxation of blood vessels (vasodilation) and a reduction in blood pressure. This makes it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body.
Decreases Aldosterone Secretion: ACE inhibition also decreases the secretion of a hormone called aldosterone from the adrenal cortex. This hormone can cause the body to retain sodium and water, which can increase blood pressure. By reducing aldosterone secretion, Ramipril helps to lower blood pressure.

Pregnancy
