CompositionRamistar 1.25 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, and to reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack and death from cardiovascular causes, including in people at high cardiovascular risk and in stable patients with heart failure following a heart attack.
It contains ramipril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. Take it as prescribed, at the same time each day, and continue taking it even if you feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
Reducing salt intake, regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support blood pressure control alongside this medicine. Avoid salt substitutes containing potassium unless advised by your doctor.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, as this medicine is not suitable in pregnancy. Report a persistent dry cough, swelling of the face or throat, or dizziness on standing immediately.
