Ramistar-A 2.5 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It combines two medicines to control blood pressure when a single medication is not enough, helping prevent heart attacks and strokes.

RAMISTAR 2.5 Tablet should be taken as per the following instructions:

RAMISTAR 2.5 Tablet contains ramipril (2.5 mg), which acts in the following ways:

• Inhibition of ACE: Ramipril inhibits an enzyme known as angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE). This enzyme is involved in the production of a compound called angiotensin II which causes blood vessels to tighten. By inhibiting ACE, ramipril reduces the levels of angiotensin II.
• Blood Vessel Relaxation: With lower levels of angiotensin II, blood vessels are able to relax and widen, resulting in lowered blood pressure.
• Improved Heart Function: By reducing the levels of angiotensin II and thereby lowering blood pressure, ramipril eases the workload on the heart. This helps improve heart function and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood efficiently.
