Potlyte Injection 10ml is used to treat low potassium levels in the blood (hypokalaemia). It contains potassium chloride, an essential electrolyte replacement.
This injection restores reduced potassium levels caused by excessive sweating, diarrhoea, vomiting, certain medicines or kidney disorders, helping maintain normal heart, nerve and muscle function. It is given by a healthcare professional, usually diluted and administered slowly into a vein, as prescribed.
Your care team may monitor your blood potassium levels and heart rhythm during and after treatment to ensure the correct dose is being given.
Tell your doctor about any kidney problems, heart conditions or high potassium levels before this medicine is given. Report chest discomfort, muscle weakness, tingling or an irregular heartbeat to your care team promptly.
