Planep 50 Tablet is used for the following:

• Managing mild to moderate high blood pressure

• Reducing risk of further cardiovascular complications in adults with heart failure, typically after a heart attack

• Controlling swelling caused by various conditions, such as liver cirrhosis

Follow these instructions while taking Planep 50 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• You can take it with or without food.

• Take it at the same time each day for best results.

• Continue taking this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor even if your symptoms improve.

Planep 50 Tablet is taken orally.

Planep 50 Tablet contains eplerenone (50 mg), which operates in your body as follows:

• Blocks Aldosterone: Eplerenone blocks the action of a hormone called aldosterone in your body. This hormone normally makes your kidneys retain salt and water.

• Increased Salt and Water Elimination: By blocking aldosterone, this medicine helps your kidneys remove excess salt and water from your body through urine, which reduces the volume of fluid in your bloodstream.

• Blood Pressure Reduction: With less fluid in your blood vessels, the pressure inside them decreases, leading to lower blood pressure.

• Heart Workload Reduction: By decreasing blood volume and pressure, this medicine reduces the strain on your heart, helping it pump blood more efficiently.

• Store at room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep the medicine in its original packaging, protected from light and moisture.

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Reducing sodium in your diet helps manage high blood pressure and supports the action of eplerenone, which removes excess salt from your body.
