Picon Cream 10gm

Picon Cream is used to manage mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema) in patients aged 2 years and older, offering relief from skin inflammation and itchiness associated with eczema and providing an alternative treatment for unresponsive cases.

To use Picon Cream properly, follow these steps:

• Make sure the area of skin to be treated is clean and dry.

• Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area.

• Gently rub the cream into the skin until it is completely absorbed.

• Discontinue use once the symptoms of atopic dermatitis have resolved.

• Consult your doctor for further advice.

Picon Cream is applied topically.

Picon Cream contains Pimecrolimus (1%), which works on the body in the following ways:

• T-cell Inhibition: Pimecrolimus selectively inhibits T-cell activation. T-cells are a type of white blood cell that plays a key role in the immune system. By inhibiting these cells, pimecrolimus helps reduce the body's immune response.

• Cytokine Production Reduction: This medicine also suppresses the production and release of inflammatory cytokines from T-cells and mast cells. Cytokines are proteins that facilitate communication between cells during immune responses and stimulate the movement of cells towards sites of inflammation.

• Always store Picon Cream at room temperature, below 30°C.

• Keep it away from extreme heat and direct sunlight.

• Ensure the cream is stored in a dry place, avoiding excess moisture.

• Be sure to keep the tube tightly closed when not in use.

• Always remember to store Picon Cream out of reach of children.

• If you have atopic dermatitis, maintaining proper skin care is essential. Using a mild soap while bathing and applying a moisturiser afterwards can help keep your skin hydrated and reduce itchiness.

• Incorporating foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like fish or flaxseeds, in your diet can also be beneficial as they are known for their anti-inflammatory properties.
