CompositionPentab 40 Tablet is commonly used to manage gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a long-term condition where stomach acid flows back into the food pipe. This medicine belongs to a class of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors.
It contains pantoprazole. It is also used to manage other acid-related disorders, including erosive oesophagitis, peptic ulcer disease and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare condition caused by tumours that secrete large amounts of stomach acid. Take it before food as prescribed.
Avoiding spicy, fatty or acidic foods, and eating smaller, more frequent meals, can help reduce reflux symptoms alongside this medicine.
