Osteofos 70 Tablet 4

Osteofos 70 Tablet is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis in adults. It helps strengthen bones, improve bone density, and reduce the risk of fractures, particularly of the spine and hip, in postmenopausal women, men, and patients with steroid-induced bone loss.

• Take Osteofos 70 mg in the morning, at least 30 minutes before your meal.
• Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
• Refrain from eating, drinking or taking any other medications (including vitamins or antacids) for at least 30 minutes after consuming the tablet. 
• Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking the tablet. 
• Adhere to the prescribed instructions and refrain from altering the dosage or increasing the tablet frequency.

Osteofos 70 mg tablets are administered orally.

• Alendronate or alendronic acid, the active ingredient in Osteofos 70 mg tablet, belongs to a class of medications called amino-bisphosphonates. It works by inhibiting the activity of osteoclasts. These are cells responsible for breaking down bone tissue. By reducing bone breakdown, alendronate helps increase bone density and reduce the risk of fractures in individuals with osteoporosis. 

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Osteofos 70 away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Patients taking a human parathyroid hormone drug for hypoparathyroidism should avoid taking this medication.
• Your calcium level may fall with the medication.
• Inform your doctor if you experience mouth sores or food pipe discomfort after taking the medication.
• Keep track of your calcium levels and bone mineral density before starting the medication and continue monitoring them for 6 to 12 months after starting the medication.
• Do not pass this medication on to others with similar symptoms. It may harm them.
