Omefol-D Capsule is used to treat peptic ulcers, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid. It relieves acidity, heartburn, and indigestion, and supports healing of the stomach lining.
It contains omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid production, combined with domperidone, which helps improve stomach muscle movement and reduces nausea. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water, generally before a meal as directed by your doctor. Continue taking it for the full duration prescribed, even if your symptoms improve earlier.
Avoiding spicy, fatty, and acidic foods, eating smaller and more frequent meals, and not lying down immediately after eating can help reduce acid reflux and support recovery. Limiting caffeine, alcohol, and smoking may also ease symptoms.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver problems, or are taking other medicines. Inform your doctor if you develop persistent stomach pain, unexplained weight loss, or difficulty swallowing, as these may need further investigation. Long term use should be reviewed regularly with your doctor.
