Olmetime-H 20 Tablet is used in adults for the management of high blood pressure that is not adequately controlled by a single medicine, combining two ingredients to help lower blood pressure more effectively.

Olmetime-H 20 Tablet consists of two active ingredients:

• Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg): Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that works by inhibiting the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in your kidneys' distal tubules. This leads to an increase in sodium excretion and diuresis, which results in reduced plasma volume and cardiac output. Additionally, it causes vasodilation which contributes to its antihypertensive effect.

• Olmesartan Medoxomil (20 mg): Olmesartan medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by selectively inhibiting the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors in your vascular smooth muscle. This inhibition blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II, resulting in vasodilation and a decrease in peripheral resistance, thereby reducing blood pressure.

The combined effect of these two medicines provides an additive antihypertensive effect for better blood pressure control than either component alone.
