CompositionHair 4U New 10% Solution is used to help slow hair loss and support regrowth in men with male pattern baldness (hereditary hair loss) on the scalp. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing minoxidil 10%, which belongs to a class of medicines called topical hair growth stimulants.
Minoxidil is thought to work by widening blood vessels around the hair follicles and prolonging the hair growth phase. This is a higher strength than the 2% and 5% products approved in the UK and US, so it should be used only when prescribed by a doctor. Apply the prescribed amount to the dry scalp, as directed, and wash your hands afterwards. Results take 3 to 6 months and are lost within a few months of stopping.
Some hair shedding in the first few weeks is common. Let the solution dry fully before styling or going to bed, and avoid getting it in the eyes.
Higher strengths are more likely to cause scalp irritation and unwanted hair growth on the face, and more of the medicine may be absorbed into the body. It is not for people under 18, or for women unless a doctor advises. Do not use it if your scalp is red, sore or sunburnt, or if you have heart disease or low blood pressure, unless your doctor agrees. Stop using it and contact your doctor if you have chest pain, a fast heartbeat, faintness, dizziness, sudden weight gain or swelling of the hands or feet. It is flammable and harmful to children and pets, especially cats, so keep it out of their reach. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
