Moxinow Tablet 5

MOXINOW Tablet 5 may interact with the following medicines:

• Antihypertensive medicines (e.g., furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide): Taking medicines that affect kidney function together may increase the risk of kidney-related complications and electrolyte imbalance. Your doctor may monitor kidney function and electrolytes during treatment.
• Antidiabetic medicines (e.g., insulin, metformin): Fluoroquinolone antibiotics may affect blood sugar control and may increase the risk of low or high blood sugar in some individuals. Your doctor may advise regular blood glucose monitoring during treatment.
• Antitubercular medicines (e.g., rifampicin, rifabutin): These medicines may reduce antibiotic effectiveness by affecting medicine metabolism or absorption. Your doctor may monitor treatment response during combined therapy.
• Antiepileptic medicines (e.g., phenytoin, carbamazepine): Taking these medicines together may increase nervous system-related side effects or reduce antibiotic effectiveness in some individuals. Your doctor may monitor symptoms during treatment.
• Heart rhythm medicines (e.g., amiodarone, quinidine): Taking these medicines together may increase the risk of serious heart rhythm disturbances because moxifloxacin may prolong the QT interval. Your doctor may monitor heart function carefully during treatment.
• Blood-thinning medicines (e.g., warfarin, heparin): Antibiotic treatment may increase the risk of bleeding-related complications in some individuals. Your doctor may monitor clotting-related parameters during combined therapy.
• Antacids and mineral supplements (e.g., aluminium hydroxide, iron supplements): These medicines may reduce absorption of moxifloxacin and decrease treatment effectiveness. Your doctor may advise maintaining a time gap between medicines.

MOXINOW Tablet 5 may interact with the following:

• Milk and dairy products: Avoid taking large amounts of milk, curd, cheese, or other dairy products close to the time of taking MOXINOW Tablet 5, as they may reduce absorption of moxifloxacin and decrease the effectiveness of the medicine. Your doctor may advise maintaining a time gap between dairy products and this medicine. 

MOXINOW Tablet 5 should be used with caution if you have:

• Heart rhythm disorders: Moxifloxacin may increase the risk of QT prolongation and abnormal heart rhythm in susceptible individuals. Your doctor may monitor heart function during treatment.
• Myasthenia gravis: Fluoroquinolone antibiotics may worsen muscle weakness and breathing difficulty in patients with myasthenia gravis. Your doctor may carefully evaluate treatment suitability.
• Tendon disorders or tendon injury history: Fluoroquinolone antibiotics may increase the risk of tendon inflammation or tendon rupture, especially in older adults and patients using corticosteroids.
• Epilepsy or seizure disorders: Nervous system-related side effects may occasionally increase the risk of seizures in susceptible individuals. Your doctor may monitor symptoms carefully during treatment.
• History of colitis or severe diarrhoea: Antibiotic treatment may worsen bowel inflammation or lead to severe antibiotic-associated diarrhoea in some individuals.

Take MOXINOW Tablet 5 exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage and duration of treatment may vary depending on the type and severity of infection, age, medical condition, and response to treatment. Do not stop treatment early without consulting your doctor, even if symptoms improve.

Taking more than the prescribed amount of MOXINOW Tablet 5 may increase the risk of severe nausea, vomiting, dizziness, confusion, diarrhoea, irregular heartbeat, or seizures. Seek immediate medical attention if overdose is suspected.

If you miss a dose of MOXINOW Tablet 5, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take double doses to compensate for the missed dose.
