Montair 5mg Strawberry Flavour Chewable Tablet 15 is used to manage asthma and relieve symptoms of seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis in children. It also helps prevent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in children aged 6 years and older.
It contains montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist. Give the tablet to your child as prescribed by your doctor; it can be chewed rather than swallowed whole. Continue giving it regularly, even when your child feels well, as it is meant for long-term control rather than immediate symptom relief.
Helping your child avoid known asthma and allergy triggers, such as dust, smoke, pollen and cold air, can support treatment with this medicine. Keep a reliever inhaler available, as advised by your doctor, for sudden breathing difficulty.
Before giving this medicine to your child, tell the doctor about any pre-existing conditions or other medicines your child is taking. Contact the doctor if your child's breathing symptoms worsen or if there is any change in mood or behaviour.
