TELEKAST 5 Tablet 10 is used for:

• Long-term management of asthma symptoms in children
• Preventing airway narrowing due to exercise in children
• Bringing relief from seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis symptoms, like a stuffy or runny nose, itching, sneezing, etc., in children

Here are the directions on how to give TELEKAST 5 Tablet 10 to your child:

• Give the medicine orally, with or without food.
• Ensure your child swallows the tablet whole with a drink of water. Avoid cutting, crushing, or chewing the tablet.
• Remember to give it regularly at the same time each day. Do not change the dose or stop giving it without consulting your doctor.
• This medicine doesn't provide immediate relief during an acute asthma attack or sudden breathing problems. Always keep a rescue inhaler on hand for such situations.

TELEKAST 5 Tablet 10 is given orally.

TELEKAST 5 Tablet 10 contains montelukast (5 mg), which acts on your child's body in several ways:

• Blocking Leukotrienes: Montelukast works by obstructing the action of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory chemicals released during an asthma attack. These chemicals can cause swelling and tightening of airways.
• Reducing Airway Inflammation: Montelukast effectively decreases inflammation in the airways by blocking leukotrienes, making it easier for your child to breathe.
• Preventing Asthma Symptoms: Montelukast helps prevent common asthma symptoms such as difficulty breathing and mucus secretion by reducing damage to the lining of the airways.
• Decreasing Sensitivity: Montelukast also reduces the sensitivity of airways to allergens and exercise, thereby preventing exercise-induced bronchoconstriction or narrowing of airways during physical activity.

• Keep TELEKAST 5 Tablet 10 stored at room temperature.
• Shield it from exposure to bright light and dampness. Do not store it in the bathroom.
• Place the medicine where your child cannot reach it.
• Always check the expiry date before giving the medicine to your child.

• Encourage your child to engage in moderate physical activity daily. Regular exercise can help manage asthma symptoms and lessen the frequency of attacks.
