CompositionMonotrate 10 Tablet is used to prevent and manage the chest pain of angina by improving blood and oxygen supply to the heart, reducing how often chest pain occurs.
It contains isosorbide mononitrate, a nitrate. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, which eases the heart's workload and improves blood flow to it.
Take it exactly as prescribed. It is not for the immediate relief of a sudden attack; a fast-acting rescue medicine is needed for that.
Do not take it with medicines for erectile dysfunction (PDE5 inhibitors), as the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Rise slowly to reduce dizziness.
