CompositionMonotrate 10 Tablet is used to prevent and manage the chest pain of angina. It is a single-ingredient nitrate containing isosorbide mononitrate.
It improves blood and oxygen supply to the heart and reduces how often and how severely chest pain occurs. Take it in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop it suddenly. It does not relieve a sudden attack of chest pain, so keep the quick-relief medicine your doctor prescribes for that purpose.
Cut down on salt and saturated fat, avoid smoking and pace physical activity as your doctor advises. Rise slowly from sitting or lying down to reduce dizziness.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any existing medical conditions and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Never take it with medicines for erectile dysfunction such as sildenafil (PDE5 inhibitors), as the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
