Meftal-P Suspension is used in children to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce high fever, in conditions such as headache, toothache, muscle aches, sprains and post-vaccination fever.
It contains mefenamic acid, an anti-inflammatory painkiller (NSAID). It works by blocking the chemicals (prostaglandins) that cause pain, swelling and fever.
Give the suspension after meals, at the dose your doctor advises. Offer small, frequent sips of water during a fever to prevent dehydration.
Tell your doctor if your child has a history of stomach ulcers, asthma, bleeding disorders, or liver, kidney or heart conditions, before use, and about any other medicines the child takes.
