Macpod 100 Oral Suspension contains cefpodoxime proxetil (100 mg), which acts within the body in the following ways:

• Inhibits Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefpodoxime works by blocking enzymes called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) within bacterial cells. These PBPs play a crucial role in building up and reshaping the bacterial cell wall.
• Causes Bacterial Cell Death: By inhibiting PBPs, cefpodoxime weakens the protective layer of bacteria, leading to their disintegration and death.
