Podocef 100 Suspension is used in children to treat bacterial infections including pharyngitis, tonsillitis, community-acquired pneumonia, chronic bronchitis flare-ups, skin infections, sinusitis and urinary tract infections.

Uses of Podocef 100 Suspension are:

• Throat Infections: Treats pharyngitis and tonsillitis.
• Respiratory Infections: Treats community-acquired pneumonia and acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.
• Skin and Sinus Infections: Treats uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections, and acute maxillary sinusitis.
• Urinary Tract Infections: Treats uncomplicated urinary tract infections (cystitis).

You should give Podocef 100 Suspension 30ml in the following way: 

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use.

Podocef 100 Suspension 30ml is given orally. 

Podocef 100 Suspension 30ml contains the following component:

• Cefpodoxime Proxetil (100 mg): It is a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls. By disrupting this process, it weakens the bacteria's defence mechanism. The cell wall is crucial for bacteria to protect themselves and maintain their internal structure. When the cell wall is compromised, the internal pressure becomes unbalanced, leading to the rupture (lysis) of the bacterial cell. This causes the bacterium to die, effectively eliminating the infection.

The storage instructions for Podocef 100 Suspension 30ml are as follows:

• Store this suspension at room temperature, around 25°C, and protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medication once it has passed its expiry date.

• Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids to help prevent dehydration, especially since diarrhea can be a possible side effect of antibiotics like Podocef 100 Suspension 30ml.
• Limit your child's consumption of sugary foods and beverages. Sugar can promote bacterial growth, which may complicate the management of bacterial infections.
