This treatment contains Linezolid, an oxazolidinone antibiotic. It works by stopping bacteria from producing the basic proteins they need to replicate. Because it attacks bacteria in a unique way, it can kill germs that have learned to survive other treatments.
This medication can be taken with or without food. Important: Avoid large amounts of "tyramine-rich" foods (like aged cheese, soy sauce, or red wine) while taking this, as it can cause a dangerous rise in blood pressure.
