Lipicure-20 Tablet is used for the following:

• Lowering of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol

• Management of mixed dyslipidemia

• Managing homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH)

• Raising HDL cholesterol levels

• Reducing the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, revascularization procedures, and angina in patients with multiple risk factors

• Slowing the progression of atherosclerosis alongside a healthy diet

To properly use Lipicure-20 Tablet, follow these steps:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• It is okay to take the tablet with or without food.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• For specific dosage instructions, consult your doctor.

Lipicure-20 Tablet is taken orally.

Lipicure-20 Tablet contains atorvastatin (20 mg), which interacts with your body in the following ways:

• Inhibition of HMG-CoA Reductase: Atorvastatin functions by blocking an enzyme known as HMG-CoA reductase in your body. This particular enzyme plays a pivotal role in forming cholesterol inside your body.

• Decrease in Blood Cholesterol: By inhibiting the activity of HMG-CoA reductase, atorvastatin effectively reduces blood cholesterol levels.

• Increase in LDL Receptors: Atorvastatin also increases the number of LDL receptors on liver cells, which improves the uptake and breakdown of LDL cholesterol.

• Reduction in Triglycerides: Atorvastatin also lowers triglycerides, another type of fat found in your blood that can increase your risk of heart disease when present in large amounts.

• Store Lipicure-20 Tablet at a cool room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Keep the tablets inside their original packaging to protect them from light and moisture.

• Place the medicine in a location where children cannot reach it.

• Always check the expiry date before taking Lipicure-20 Tablet.

• Follow a low-cholesterol diet: Cut down on saturated fats found in red meat and full-fat dairy products, and avoid trans fats found in many processed foods. This can help manage your cholesterol levels alongside taking Lipicure-20 Tablet.

• Regular physical activity: Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week. Exercise can raise your 'good' cholesterol while lowering your 'bad' cholesterol and triglycerides, complementing the effect of Lipicure-20 Tablet.
