Atoril 20 MG Tablet 10 is utilised for:

• Controlling high cholesterol levels when diet and lifestyle changes aren't enough

• Lessening the chances of heart attack, stroke, and angina in individuals with multiple risk factors for heart disease

• Managing primary dysbetalipoproteinemia, a condition characterised by elevated levels of certain fats in the blood

• Controlling hypertriglyceridemia, a condition where there is a high concentration of triglycerides - a type of fat - in the blood

• Use in children aged 10 years and above to manage heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, a genetic disorder causing high cholesterol levels.

To use Atoril 20 MG Tablet 10 correctly:

1. Swallow the medicine whole with water.

2. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

3. Ensure you do not exceed the dose recommended by your doctor.

4. If you feel better, do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Atoril 20 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Atoril 20 MG Tablet 10 contains atorvastatin (20 mg), which influences the body as follows:

• HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibition: Atorvastatin functions by blocking an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which is essential for creating cholesterol within your body.

• Decreases LDL Cholesterol Levels: By inhibiting the activity of HMG-CoA reductase, atorvastatin effectively diminishes the levels of LDL cholesterol in your blood.

• Increases HDL Cholesterol Levels: Atorvastatin can also help enhance levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, often referred to as "good" cholesterol.

1. Store Atoril 20 MG Tablet 10 at room temperature, ideally between 15-30°C.

2. Keep it away from direct light and moisture to maintain its efficacy.

3. Keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.

4. Always check the expiry date on the package before use, and discard any expired medication.

• Maintain a diet low in saturated fats and cholesterol, which can help manage high cholesterol levels; try adding more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and fish to your meals.

• Regular physical activity is recommended; aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise, such as walking, cycling, or swimming, daily to control your cholesterol levels.
