Lipicard Av Tablet 10 is used to manage high cholesterol.

Uses of Lipicard Av Tablet 10 are:

• High Cholesterol: Helps manage primary hypercholesterolaemia when diet and other measures are not enough.
• Mixed Lipid Disorders: Used for mixed dyslipidaemia, where different types of blood fats are abnormal.
• High Triglycerides: Helps manage severe hypertriglyceridaemia (very high triglyceride levels).

When taking Lipicard-AV Tablet, please remember:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Always take the medicine with meals.

• Make sure to take the tablet at the same time each day, ideally in the evening.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose. Do not double up on doses.

• Consult your doctor for any further guidance on how to use this medicine.

Lipicard-AV Tablet is taken orally.

Lipicard-AV Tablet contains two active ingredients that work in a specific way to manage abnormal lipid levels:

• Atorvastatin (10 mg): This ingredient blocks an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase in your body that plays a significant role in producing cholesterol. By inhibiting this enzyme, atorvastatin effectively reduces blood cholesterol levels.

• Fenofibrate (160 mg): As a fibric acid derivative, fenofibrate activates a receptor known as PPARα in your body. This action helps to increase lipolysis (the breakdown of fats) and eliminate triglyceride-rich particles from your blood by activating an enzyme called lipoprotein lipase and reducing apoprotein C-III production. As a result, it leads to lower triglyceride levels and changes in LDL composition.

• Stow your Lipicard-AV Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Protect it from light and moisture; it's best kept in its original packaging.

• Don't forget the desiccant in the pack; it helps keep your medicine dry.

• Always place it out of children's reach.

• Be sure to check the expiry date before you take the medicine.

• To manage abnormal lipid levels, include more fibre-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet. These can aid in lowering cholesterol levels.

• Regular physical activity is also beneficial. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity like brisk walking every day; this can help maintain a healthy heart and reduce cardiovascular risk factors.
