CompositionLinero Tablet is used to control blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing linagliptin, and belongs to a class of medicines called DPP-4 inhibitors.
This medicine works by blocking an enzyme called DPP-4, which raises the levels of hormones that help the body release insulin when it is needed and lowers the amount of sugar made by the liver. It can be used on its own or alongside other diabetes medicines, as your doctor decides. Take it with or without food, at the same time each day, and keep taking it even if you feel well.
Following a balanced diet that limits sugary foods and refined carbohydrates, staying physically active as your doctor advises, and checking your blood sugar regularly can support blood sugar control alongside this treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, have had pancreatitis, or take insulin or other diabetes medicines, as these can increase the chance of low blood sugar. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not established for use in children under 18 years. Get urgent medical help for severe stomach pain that does not go away, or for signs of low blood sugar such as sweating, shakiness, or confusion.
