CompositionLee Dott Sachet is used to manage acute, short-term loose motions (diarrhoea) in infants and children. It helps reduce the amount and frequency of loose stools by lowering the excess loss of water and salts into the gut, which supports quicker recovery.
It contains racecadotril, an antidiarrhoeal medicine that reduces excess fluid loss from the intestine without slowing normal bowel movement. It is used alongside oral rehydration solution (ORS), not in place of it. Mix and give each dose exactly as directed by your child's doctor, and continue ORS and feeding as advised.
Keeping your child well hydrated with ORS and continuing normal feeding are the most important parts of managing loose motions and preventing dehydration. Offer frequent small amounts of fluid, and watch for signs of dehydration such as reduced urination or a dry mouth.
Before giving this medicine, tell your child's doctor about any ongoing conditions or other medicines your child takes. Speak to your child's doctor if the loose motions last more than a couple of days, if there is blood in the stool, a high fever, or signs of dehydration.
