Lacoset 50 Tablet is used to manage focal (partial) seizures in both adults and children aged 4 years and older. It helps control abnormal electrical activity in the brain, effectively preventing seizures.

Here's how to take Lacoset 50 Tablet properly:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing or breaking the tablet.

• Don't stop taking your medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this could worsen your condition.

Lacoset 50 Tablet is taken orally.

Lacoset 50 Tablet contains lacosamide (50 mg), which works in the following ways:

• Enhances Slow Inactivation of Sodium Channels: Lacosamide selectively enhances the slow inactivation of voltage-gated sodium channels in your body. These channels play a crucial role in the transmission of signals in your nerves.

• Stabilises Neuronal Membranes: By enhancing the slow inactivation of sodium channels, lacosamide stabilises hyperexcitable neuronal membranes. This means it helps calm overactive nerve cells in your brain.

• Reduces Seizure Activity: As lacosamide stabilises your neuronal membranes, it inhibits the firing of neurons and reduces the spread of seizure activity. This helps control and reduce the frequency of seizures.

• Keep your Lacoset 50 Tablet in its original package to protect it from moisture.

• Store the medicine at room temperature, ideally between 20°C to 25°C.

• Avoid exposure to bright light.

• Ensure that Lacoset 50 Tablet is kept out of reach of children.
