Ivamac 5 Tablet is used to manage symptoms of stable angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart) in adults, and to help control chronic heart failure. It works by lowering the heart rate, allowing the heart to work more efficiently.
It contains ivabradine, a heart rate-lowering agent, and is often used in people who cannot take beta-blockers or in combination with beta-blockers when appropriate. Take it with food as prescribed, and do not stop it suddenly without your doctor's advice.
Avoiding grapefruit juice, limiting caffeine intake and attending regular heart-rate checks support safe use of this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any history of slow heart rate, heart rhythm problems or liver disease before starting. Report any unusual visual disturbances (seeing flashes of light), a very slow heart rate, or dizziness straight away.
