Ivapace 5 Tablet 10 is used to manage chronic stable angina. It is a single-ingredient antianginal medicine containing ivabradine.

For your child, this medicine helps reduce the frequency of heart-related chest pain attacks in adults unable to take beta-blockers. It also helps lower the heart rate in adults with stable chronic heart failure to reduce hospital admissions. It is also used in children aged 6 months and older with heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy under specialist advice.

Reducing salt and following an activity plan advised by your doctor can support heart and blood pressure management alongside this medicine.

Before starting, tell your child's doctor about your child's medical conditions and allergies. Tell the doctor about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products your child takes. Report persistent or serious side effects to your child's doctor. Do not stop giving or using the medicine unless the doctor advises you to do so.

Inhibits HCN channel: Ivabradine blocks the hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel responsible for the cardiac pacemaker If current. This current controls spontaneous diastolic depolarisation in the sinus node, which is the heart's natural pacemaker.
Decreases heart rate: By inhibiting the If current, ivabradine effectively reduces the heart rate. It does so without influencing ventricular repolarisation or myocardial contractility, which means it doesn't affect the resetting of the heart's electrical activity or the heart muscle's ability to contract.

Pregnancy
