• Glimepiride (2 mg): This is a sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin by binding to receptors on pancreatic beta cells, closing potassium channels and opening calcium channels, which triggers insulin release.

• Sitagliptin (50 mg): This works by inhibiting an enzyme called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), which normally breaks down incretin hormones. By preserving these hormones, sitagliptin increases insulin release in a glucose-dependent manner and reduces glucagon secretion from the pancreas.
