Glimestar M3 Tablet 10

Glimestar M3 Tablet 10 is used to manage type 2 diabetes.

Uses of Glimestar M3 Tablet 10 are:

• Type 2 Diabetes Management: Helps control high blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.
• Prolonged Glycaemic Control: Provides steady blood sugar regulation throughout the day with its prolonged-release delivery.
• Prevention of Complications: Reduces the risk of long-term diabetes-related kidney, eye, nerve, and cardiovascular damage.

• Swallow the tablet whole with your evening meal.

• Avoid crushing, chewing, or splitting the tablet.

• Do not take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Glimestar M3 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Glimestar M3 Tablet 10 consists of two active ingredients:

• Glimepiride (3 mg): As part of the sulphonylurea class of medications, glimepiride helps regulate blood sugar by stimulating pancreatic beta cells to release more insulin. This increased insulin secretion occurs even at lower blood sugar levels due to an improved sensitivity of these cells towards glucose. Glimepiride helps reduce glucose output from your liver.

• Metformin (500 mg): Metformin primarily works by reducing hepatic glucose production and intestinal glucose absorption, while enhancing insulin sensitivity in tissues like muscle and fat. It activates an enzyme named AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which regulates cellular energy balance and glucose uptake. Unlike sulphonylurea, metformin does not stimulate insulin secretion and is less likely to cause hypoglycaemia.

Through these different mechanisms, it effectively helps manage blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes.

• Maintain a balanced diet low in sugars and high in fibre, to help manage blood sugar levels when taking Glimestar M3 Tablet 10.

• Regular exercise is beneficial for managing type 2 diabetes. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity everyday. This can include brisk walking, cycling, or even gardening.
