Forglyn Plus Inhaler is used for the long-term maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma in adults. It contains budesonide, formoterol, and glycopyrrolate, and helps reduce airway inflammation while keeping the airways open, easing breathlessness, wheezing, and chest tightness.
Budesonide is a corticosteroid that reduces swelling in the airways, while formoterol and glycopyrrolate are long-acting bronchodilators that relax the muscles around the airways. Use the inhaler as prescribed for daily maintenance; it is not meant for sudden breathing attacks. Rinse your mouth with water after each use to help prevent oral thrush. Continue using it regularly even if you feel well, as stopping suddenly may cause your symptoms to return.
Following the correct inhalation technique, avoiding known triggers such as smoke or dust, and attending pulmonary rehabilitation or breathing exercises as advised can help improve the benefit of this medicine.
Before using, tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, heart disease, or a history of paradoxical bronchospasm, or if you are taking other medicines. Tell your doctor if you notice worsening breathlessness, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or white patches in your mouth. Use with caution during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
