Folitrax 25 Injection 1ml

Folitrax 25 Injection 1ml is used for:

• Controlling symptoms of certain cancers such as breast cancer and lung cancer.
• Reducing the growth of abnormal cells in adults with severe leukaemia.
• Treatment of gestational choriocarcinoma, hydatidiform mole, and chorioadenoma destruens.
  Prophylaxis and treatment of meningeal leukaemia.
• Treatment of non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas in combination therapy.
• Control of advanced mycosis fungoides (cutaneous T-cell lymphoma).
• Treatment of osteosarcoma when used in high doses with leucovorin rescue therapy.
• Management of severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults.
• Reducing symptoms of severe, recalcitrant psoriasis.

This medicine is administered strictly under medical supervision, usually in a hospital or clinic setting by a healthcare professional. It is given as an injection into a vein, muscle, or occasionally into the spine, depending on the disease being treated.
 

Folitrax 25 Injection 1ml is meant for parenteral administration only (intravenous, intramuscular, or intrathecal injection as directed by your doctor).

Folitrax 25 Injection 1ml contains the following active component:

• Methotrexate (25 mg): Methotrexate is an antimetabolite and folic acid antagonist. It acts by inhibiting the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, which is crucial for the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. This disruption slows down or halts the growth of rapidly dividing cells, including cancer cells, and modulates the immune system in autoimmune conditions.
• Sodium Chloride (4.9 mg): It acts as an isotonic agent that helps maintain fluid balance and stability of the solution.

• Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
