Flutrol 250 Capsule is used for the long-term management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults. It contains fluticasone and salmeterol, an inhaled corticosteroid and a long-acting bronchodilator, which reduce airway inflammation and keep the airways open, easing wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness and cough.
This medicine is inhaled using the prescribed device; it is not for swallowing. Use it regularly, even when you feel well, as it is for long-term prevention, not for relieving a sudden asthma attack. Do not stop suddenly without your doctor's advice.
Rinsing your mouth with water after each use helps prevent oral thrush. Following a written asthma or COPD action plan, avoiding known triggers and attending regular check-ups also support your breathing.
Tell your doctor if you have tuberculosis, a fungal or viral infection, or heart problems before starting this medicine. Report worsening breathlessness, a fast or irregular heartbeat, or oral thrush (white patches in the mouth) to your doctor. Keep a fast-acting reliever inhaler with you for sudden symptoms.
